Back from the sink!

It's been a while but we are back!
We've been dragging our heels a little updating this blog, but if you yourself are a home owner, you'll apreciate that moving into a new home has a way of causing one or two headaches that can swallow up a large portion of your free time!
We have nearly finished decorating our living room now, so I've decided to update the blog.

So what have we been up to with regards to making more money???
Well I've been asked to help a friend in designing a web application for a mobile phone company that looks quite promising!
It's currently in it's infancy, so I can't comment on what kind of money that will bring in just yet.

I'm such a lucky get!
Drinking copious amounts of Diet Coke have not been completely in vain!
I've recently won a 80gig Apple iPod in the current UK coco-cola drinks promotion.
Retailing at £239 I hope to sell it either on eBay or through friends.
If your interested please email me! Offers in the region of £180 will be accepted!

After reading the rules of the current drinks promotion terms I had a little think to myself and believe that there could be a way of winning a few more of these! So I'm currently saving up more codes and will put my plans into action at the end of the month!
Make sure you check back to see how I get on!

Also we will be launching our long awaited shop this month, so please look out for the shop link at the top of our blog!

Well time for me to get back to designing this site!

Until next time...

P.S.
I will be updating our running PAID OFF TOTAL (our house-o-meter graphic) at some point in the next week. This will please our biggest fan the infamous Aaron Lavender!

More Services!

O.k. we have put our heads together and come up with two extra services that we can offer our readers!

Service 1

Michelle has loaned a sewing machine from a friend and is going to use her skills as a seamstress to customise old jeans, turning them into designer mini skirts.
We will be buying cheap second hand jeans from charity shops and ebay. Then producing our own customised mini skirts to sell in our shop (coming soon!)
However getting the right size for everyone is going to be hard.

Soooooooo we thought that, if you'd like to send us your own jeans, we can customize them and send them back to you for a fee of only £20.
If your interested please feel free to
email Michelle with your requests.
Service 2

I'm offering my photography restoration services.
Do you have any old photo's that have been accidently damaged?
Do you want someone removing from a group photo?
Or do you wish to superimpose your partners head onto a dog?

Well email me your requests and I will see depending on the difficulty of the restoration if I can do the work and I will charge a small fee.
(ranging from £10 to £25 depending on difficulty and time spent)

T-Shirt Design No.1

Hi guys made my first t-shirt design and it can be rated here at splittheatom.com

The more people rate it the more chance of me winning the competition!
Cheers for your support

First Taste of Affiliate Marketing...

Hmmmmm, in the words of my favourite big fat faker (Andy Pipkin)... "I don't like it!"

Lets have a quick recap.

So far I've signed up for 'SlashMySearch.com', where you can earn as you search!
You are required to set the website as your homepage. This means every time you launch the Internet it is there staring at you, quivering at the thought of you actually wanting to search on it.

  • Day 1: The search option was down with technical difficulties all day.

  • Day 2: Search Engine back up but returns your searches with an error saying having difficulties searching, even if it does manage to find what it's looking for.

  • Day 3: I forgot to mention on Day 1 and 2 its damn ugly to look at, as most of the columns overlap one another to the point of giving you a stonking headache and if that isn't enough you have to wait for this privilege as it is incredible slow in loading the results!

  • Day 4: Tried searching on www.w3.org (Web Standards Organisation), the response you'll get is, sorry we can't find this site! This says it all to me.

To summarise this is not a great search engine, my money from searching goes up at what seems like a rate of 0.01 American Cent per search. So currently I have about 0.0567 Cents! Woo Hoo!!

If this was anything like Google it would be a pleasure to use, but it doesn't seem like it is heading in that direction to me.

Overall Rating: 2 out of 10

(so far but please do correct me if I'm wrong on this, however no bullshitters please)

Next.......

I found this article
Turn one pound into one million: New site promotion website - 20 million hits so decided to give it a whirl.

I would liken the process of signing up for this scheme to the feeling you get when it's your birthday, you run down stairs and there is a tonne of post waiting with your name on it. You get all excited and you tear every one open in a enjoyment frenzy, then the sinking feeling hits you as they all turn out to be some sort of crappy get rich quick scheme to sign up for!
Arghhhhhh
I'm not affiliating to the site as it seems like a load of toss.

I know I'm new to this on-line money making, but don't think I'm thick.
I know that what I should really be saying is that I found it to be one of the easiest and greatest ways to channel traffic to my blog.
I'd rather not lie through my teeth, honestly it just seems like another pathetic scam.
Only time will tell.

Track Our Success

To keep everybody interested, we are setting up a new savings account and will provide some visual aids to help you and ourselves track the progress we are making.
We will post images of our statements month by month until we reach out total.

Having a very brief look around the net, there seem to be a number of web blogs that have links to free money making sites.
Basically the idea being that you give your time up to filling in questionnaires and surveys for small amounts of money, prizes or points.

I will be joining the majority of these and advising you of our success with each program. I must admit I'm pretty sceptical about these as I've always been told you, get nothing for free in this life.

Now this is my personal opinion but they all seem to be crafty tools in which to gain your personal details to sell onto external marketing companies. They will of course notify you of this and thats why they pay you.

We have been living in a flat for the past year and sign up with BT's free service which stops sales calls ringing on our line. So far it has been great not a single sales call!

So lets just see how that changes, now i'm about to be signing up for all of these 'Surveys'.

(I believe a number change might be on the horizon.)

The first of these free money making sites that I'm going to be signing up for is:
http://www.slashmysearch.com
It seems to be mentioned an awfull lot on various websites.
As it's diagram clearly shows, it looks like some sort of pyramid selling scheme.

Although you aren't selling anthing physically speaking. (maybe just your time)

Now if you have a quick look around on the web, you will find tons of sites claiming that slashmysearch pay out and even supply you with a 'proof image' of their bank statements showing payments coming in from this company.

As a Photoshop user myself, I know that it would only take a novice photoshop user to make these images look real. If you don't believe me check out
www.worth1000.com for some of the coolest and professional photoshop image manipulation around.

So I will test this out and join up.
Feel free to click on the link above to try for yourselves it will obviously help the cause!

Then there is
http://www.agloco.com this looks more professional than the above site, however once you have signed up, this too looks like a pyramid data exchange system too.
Also it has a very cheesy tag line of... "own the internet!"
Hmmmm again I'm a little sceptical and can imagine tuning into Watch Dog in a months time to see that it's a major hoax?

However again, if you feel like helping, please do click on the link and sign up as it will help us towards our goal.

Well it's late and my bed is calling me. Hmmm maybe I'm best taking the phone off the hook just incase? lol

Where is the money going to come from?

Well, besides the small amount of income that can be made from advertisements placed on this blog. I need to search the Internet to find out other ways in which to create additional income.

I studied Graphic Design at University, so will be looking to draw on my skills in this area to create artwork, t-shirts and other design based products that I could sell through the site.

I also have an interest in Photography and will try to sell some of my images on here too.
If you like my images and are looking for a cheap photographic solution, please email me for a quote.
My portfolio can be viewed at my site:
www.tees.me.uk

I've also taught myself html, css, and Flash and can put together a fairly basic website.
So I will be looking at using sites such as:
http://www.odesk.com/
http://www.elance.com/
http://www.worth1000.com/
http://www.guru.com/

These are online freelance sites, where people post their projects and designers submit bids to win the work. I believe I have the ability to make some money doing small design jobs such as logo and flash banner work.

Then there are the T-shirt competition sites I'll look to enter and attempt to win??

http://www.teetonic.com £100
http://www.splittheatom.com £250
http://threadless.com Varies as it depends on who sponsor but £1,500 cash plus some amazing prizes.

watch this space as there will be more to come soon...
;-) Adam

The Start

Welcome to our blog.
My name is Adam, myself and my partner Michelle are about to get into a huge amount of debt! We are going to purchase a house together.
The thought of all that debt looming over our heads is not one we wish to have for very long!

It's the 25th of February and we are currently one day away from signing on the dotted line for our lovely new home.

It will be another month or so before we move in, so I hope I'm not jinxing it by starting this blog??
As we are currently saving up our pennies, we find ourselves flat bound for the weekend. So I decided to spend my free time setting up this site.

So what are we doing this blog for?? Here's our mission statement...

Goal: To 'clear the mortgage'

Plan: To do whatever necessary
(without breaking the law or prostituting oneself)

Tools: The Internet and all of the opportunities that it may bring!

Inspired by the likes of http://oneredpaperclip.blogspot.com/
and also
(p.s. we don't need the million just £167,000)

Then there is the ingenious...

I will be scouring the internet to find the best way to bring in additional savings. I will be showing you the links and rating them based on our returns.

I hope you will enjoy reading our blog and following our story.

Adam and Michelle
